Apple today announced plans to hold its annual iPhone-centric event on Monday, September 9 this year. Usually in years past, we’ve had a Tuesday, maybe even a Wednesday, but Apple went with Monday. September nine TH at the Apple Park campus in Cupertino, California, and that’ll all start at 10 AM M Pacific 1 PM Eastern time.
iPhoneAt this year’s event, we will see Apple unveil the iPhone 16 lineup, new Apple Watch models, and the AirPods 4 Plus. We’ll get official launch dates for iOS 18 and MacOS. Sequoia and Apple’s other software updates.
Now the event invite and the tagline is Its Glow Time. And so if we want to do the speculation, the obvious thing here to me would be Siri and to Apple Intelligence. And so maybe we’ll see some new iphone 16 specific Apple Intelligence features at this event alongside, of course, the new hardware and the changes to the lineup itself.
Or maybe we’ll just see a rehash of the ones that are going to be coming here soon that we didn’t already get in the beta.
All four of the new iphones are expected to have the customizable action button and a new Capture button for taking photos that will have builtin gestures such as Swipe presuming in and out or a soft press for auttoocus.
Apple is also adding an A18 chip to all models, so the entire iPhone 16 lineup will be capable of supporting the Apple Intelligence features that are coming in iOS 18.

No other major new features are expected for the standard iphone 16 models, but the Pro lineup will get an increase in display size going from 6.1 to 6.7 inches and then 6.3 to 6.9 inches respectively for the Pro and the Pro Max. Both models will also include the five x telephoto zoom option that was exclusive to the Pro Max last year, and that zoom distance might actually increase potentially on the Pro Max or maybe both on that telephoto lens, and also some improvements to the Ultra Wide lens is expected as well.
Now for the Apple Watch, the standard Series Ten is expected to feature a thinner design with a larger display, but the change won’t be as radical as we once thought it would be.
Apple also plans to refresh the Apple Watch SE and the Apple Watch Ultra and we could see new health features such as sleep apnea detection and blood pressure monitoring, but it’s not entirely clear if Apple will have those ready in time for this year’s launch. There could also be a few surprise devices.
We’ve been hearing a lot of things about Airpods potentially being at this event, with the new AirPods four coming in two variants, a standard version just an update to the three and then one with ANC and transparency, and now ANC is typically a feature reserved for the airpods Pros, but now this would give users a different fit and style like the ones of the Airpods three. Now it’d be updated and you’d be able to have that in a nonpro version.
Note – Apple plans to stream the fall event on its website, YouTube, or through the Apple TV app.
